Description

A brief sketch of a samurai!
After KILL BILL!!
Then I was inspired, so i proceed with trying out my skills in Corel photopaint and Aliassketchpro.
This is my first digital painting; I hope you guys like it!

"Lone Samurai" A recreation of the battles between the Honorable and those whom were relinquish of their honor.

(thats a ninja in the background)
EVeryone always miss the ninja's face in the background lol!

Did you *mean* to use the neutral gray in the background? Because it looks rather bad in this case, bordered by red. It might, just might make it if only the figure was color, but even then it would be difficult to pull off right; offset by this frame, it is quite unpleasant near the colors.
Please consider using tinted gray instead.

the figure is cool, it really stands out against the background. BTW, on a scale of 1-10 how would rate Kill Bill? (1 being worst)

i like the figures painting..it has some traditional japanese painting style...but would like to see a background which fits to figures style..that background looks kinda rushed

Ahhh I like Japanese stuff, I did a Samurai of my own a while ago but it's more cartoony than this one, slitly blurry but you show promise, keep em coming mate!

Actually, almost any new digital artist will use too many filters, or too much of the smudge tool (maybe liquify filter?). So really, most of this piece is not different than what I would expect.

However, experimenting is good, as is creating your own style. So I can't tell you not to.

But it is important to not rely on some of those digital 'tools'.
